On 22nd April 2011 I will start to cycle the 950+ miles from John O’groats to Land’s End. I’ll be joined by Mick West who did the same ride in 2008 and is generally in much better shape than me (an Ironman a year will do that to you apparently…).
I expect it to be hard, windy and hilly but it also means I should get the chance to see some of the most stunning parts of the UK.
The route is roughly:
22nd: John O’Groats -> Lairg
23rd: Lairg -> Grantown on Spey
24th: Grantown on Spey -> Kinross
25th: Kinross -> Annan
26th: Annan -> Lancaster
27th: Lancaster -> Welshpool
28th: Welshpool -> Bath
29th: Bath -> Launceston
30th: Launceston -> Four Lanes
1st: Four Lanes -> Land’s End
